Goals And Objectives

 

The Basic Education Department is integrally dedicated to wholistic development of globally competitive learners under its respective, careful jurisdiction and mandate.  The department endeavors to strengthen and solidify a Christ-centered outlook in the pupils/students through basic Christian teachings in collaboration with the Augustinian-Marian ideals and tradition.

 

Specifically, the department exists to share and accomplish the following objectives:

                               

  •  Live out the Augustinian way of life by becoming living witnesses to the Gospel values.  It includes:

  • exposures to urban poor and NGOs;

  • value integration in different subject areas;

  • personal encounter with Jesus through the Church Sacraments;

  • promotion of LCC-B school culture and works of civil society;

  • respect for the rights of others while assuming responsibility of one’s own rights;

  • strengthening community of friends;

  • propriety in words and deeds;

  • faith life sharing  through  Basic Ecclesial Community (BEC) to cope with problems and difficulties in school, home and school community;

  • love of God’s creation;

  • preserver of heritage; and

  • availability and indispensability in service of other.

 

  •  Cultivate  globally competitive skills and knowledge through:

  • analytical thinking and logical reasoning

  • proficiency in self-expression, that is, in oral and written;

  • presentation of skits, stage plays, dramas and concert;

  • demonstration of knowledge and creative skills in school or group-sponsored debate, public speaking, and in doing film and book reviews, etc.;

  • publication of literary articles and research outputs;

  • sensibility and resourcefulness in the implementation of classroom activities and school projects;

  • sufficiency in quantitative reasoning and mathematical background to cope with modern world technologies.

 

  • Deepen an attitude of friendship and cooperation among members of the school community through:

  • leadership and rapport; and

  • active participation in different learning and educational activities.

                                                                                                    

  • Strengthen partnership with parents and establish stronger linkages with other Augustinian schools and the outside community.  It includes the following:

  • active participation in inter-school activities, especially, with the Augustinian school;

  • mobilization of parents in school activities by tapping them as resource persons;

  • involvement with different sectors of society and partner community;

  • active promotion of kinship assembly in school as students’ second home;

  • Provide a conducive  and growth-oriented environment for the learners by:

  • facilitating activities and new learning opportunities to maximize skills and harness potentials

  • creating a positive learning environment

  • Enrich learning experiences through the use of modern technology and multi-media.  It includes:

  • Proper understanding in the application of multimedia to classroom management;

  • production of investigatory projects, researches, ICT’s

  • Exemplify a transforming education that would help pupils/students emulate and achieve a socially responsible behavior.  It includes

  • integration of culture of love, freedom and  peace based on justice;

  • responsiveness to global issues while  locally involved

  • rendering highest regard to human dignity.
